What will I need to learn?

The full specifications currently needed to run learndirect courses are:

·         CPU: Pentium 500MHz

·         RAM: 128 Mbytes (256MB recommended)

·         Hard Drive with 650 Mbytes of free space

·         CD drive: 24x speed

·         Sound card (16 bit) enabled with Speakers or Headphones

·         SVGA Graphics card

·         16 bit colour

·         Keyboard

·         Mouse (Microsoft compatible)

·         Operating system: Windows 98, 2000, XP

·         Web enabled using either Internet Explorer (IE6) or Netscape Navigator (v6.2)

·         Web connectivity via – preferably Broadband or better.

·         The facility to load CDs.

You will also need to ensure the following have been carried out:

• The security software settings for the PC need to be set to allow the learndirect website (www.learndirect.co.uk) to be a trusted site.
• Ensure that any pop up blocker software allow pop ups for the learndirect website.  
• Different courses require different players.  The most commonly needed players are Java, Macromedia Authorware and Flash.  The following link will give you more information on downloading these - http://www.learndirect.co.uk/personal/helpandadvice/players/.
• Ensure Adobe Acrobat is installed.
