Hi team
Thanks for making the step towards getting a Nationally recognised IT qualification.  Right what next??

I will just list down the things that you need to be aware of and what to do, sorry it is direct but it helps to keep things clear for you.
1. You have 2 courses: ECDL Part 1 Prepare and Test (Syllabus 4) and IT2 Electronic Communication - MS 2000 (EP)

2. Please log in to each one and try the courseware. You will be asked if you want to run from the Internet or the Resources CD, if you have broadband choose Internet.

3. If you get a blank white window you need to install the Macromedia Authorware Player from the Fastload CD or http://www.electricpaper.ie/webplayer/

4. Once this is done you will see the courseware.

5. You need to work thorough the materials and at the end of each small topic there is an Assessment. Complete the Assessment and the system will submit it to me to look at. We have a pass-mark of 80% for ALL assessments and Assignments.

6. You will also find some Exercises and Tasks, these are for you to do and assess as they come with a marking scheme.

7. There are 3 Consolidation Assignments that you have to complete using the relevant software. The completed files are uploaded to the Consolidation area and I assess them for you.

8. I will send feedback on ALL Assessment and Assignments you do.

9. As you work through you will find you have some Learning Outcomes to tick off. Once you feel you have achieved an Outcome please tick it and save the changes, I will then confirm once I am happy that you have achieved it.

10. So once the Assessments, 3 Assignments and Outcomes are done and dusted I will complete you on the course.

11. We will then enrol you onto the next one and arrange an exam for you.

12. Once you have your ECDL Logbook please send the number to our exam co-ordinator at the office (clare.hartland@tribalhubs.com).

13. The logbook must go with you for each exam so it gets stamped. Once complete it is sent off and you get the ECDL Qualification.

14. Please log in regularly as we must be able to demonstrate evidence of learning.

15. You have access to a Personal Notebook, please log an entry at the end of each session so you keep a nice record of what scores you got and what you have done.

16. Please ensure you have a look at both courses regularly.

17. We will use messaging for communications as they stay in the system and never go out into the Internet so are safer. You can also attach files and documents to messages.

18. Please have a look at the website (www.dfranklin.co.uk) I have put together for us all and if you find there is something you feel would be helpful to other learners please let me know and I will see if I can pop on the site.
